Short presenter:  Ali Sadr, Editor – in Chief of Peyk magazine

Topic: He will discuss the importance of this new category and why he thinks the Iranian Americans will be counted more realistically. The recently released Census 2020 results have once again highlighted the undercounting of Iranian Americans. Recently, a new category called MENA (Middle East/North Africa) was added, with specific country names included as subcategories. This provides an opportunity for Iranians to mark MENA and identify as Iranian. He will discuss the importance of this new category and why he thinks the Iranian Americans will be counted more realistically. 

About Ali Sadr:  Ali and his family have resided in San Diego since 1986. He is a retired engineering geologist. Ali has been working with the Iranian School of San Diego (ISSD) and Persian Cultural Center (PCC), since 1990.  In 1995 he was assigned to serve as the Principal of ISSD. He has continued his services to date. Ali has also been Editor-in-Chief of Peyk magazine since 2002.
