About the speaker: Touraj Daryaee, Professor of Ancient History and Director of the Dr. Samuel M. Jordan Center for Persian Studies at the University of California, Irvine.
He was born in Tehran, in 1967.
He received his Ph.D. in History from UCLA, in 1999.
His research is about the history and civilization of ancient Iran, he has written several books:
- Sasanian Persia: The Rise and Fall of an Empire, IB Tauris 2012
- The Oxford Handbook of Iranian History, Oxford Univ. Press, 2014
