The Balance Theory explains how experiencing conflicts in our belief system & lifestyle could lead to chronic stress; which inflicts long-lasting negative effects in our body & mind. Therefore, the chronic harmful effect of long-term stress in our psyche (thoughts & emotions), neuroendocrine system, & chemistry will be reviewed by introducing different theories in these areas of study. Eventually, the approach of “the Antioxidant-based Treatment Model for Chronic Stress” will be introduced, providing a comprehensive treatment approach in our historical struggle against chronic stress.
The following theories will be introduced:
- Balance Theory
- Stress Response System Theory (HPA Axis-neuroendocrine function in coping with stress)
- Oxidative Stress Theory
- Antioxidant-based Treatment Model for Chronic Stress
