Topic: Iranian Community (Immigrants) 25 Years After Migration

This presentation discusses the cultural and social characteristics of
immigrated Iranians. It will take a new look at the changes that
occurred in the past 25 years since immigration and will examine the
interaction between first and second generation Iranian-Americans. It
will explore the cultural characteristics and what family problems
have stemmed from this, as well as consider the identity of our second
generation, the opportunities for each generation and the successes
they have had thus far.
Dr. Shahlapour is currently a visiting scholar/post doctoral fellow at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Department of Sociology. She has conducted reasearch on the sociological aspect of immigration on the Iranian community in Los Angeles. Dr. Shahlapour's CV.
